According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average annual salary for X-Ray Technicians was $43,350. X-Ray Technician School Curriculum
X-ray schools offer one-year certificates, two-year associate degree, or four-year bachelor's degrees. Courses and areas of study include: anatomy, radiologic physics, equipment and darkroom procedures, and patient positioning. The Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Education accredits most X-ray technician courses.
Students also receive hands-on training in how to take X-rays and prepare patients. At the end of your education, you will be able to perform entry-level, limited radiography, including chest X-rays, extremity x-rays, and torsoskeletal x-ray procedures.
